OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHappy New Year!

As we ring in the new year, we have a lot to be thankful for in South Lake Tahoe. First of all, it is snowing! Lets hope it keeps coming down! Furthermore, it is great to see lots of positive choices for shoppers in South Lake Tahoe. New shops are cropping up around town that offer high quality, unique gifts that you just won’t find in the big box stores. With so many cute places to shop in town, there is no need to drive off the hill. Save precious time and gas, and shop locally!

Here are my reviews:

1. Tahoe Toys and Treasures, 3053 Harrison Ave.
This is a great little toy store offering top quality, educational toys, organic children’s clothing, and more. France, who runs the place, is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

2. Wildwood DIY Boutique, 989 Tallac Ave.
This little shop offers one of a kind art made by local crafters and artists. Lisa, the owner, offers DIY workshops such as DIY wood necklaces, felt banners, wall planters, and painted pots. This is the place to go to be a part of the creative community in Tahoe.

3. Classical Glass and Gifts, on Lake Tahoe Blvd. near Cold Water Brewery
This is a brand new gift-shop in town. The owner, Katie, just relocated her shop from Gardnerville to South Shore and we are so lucky to have her! Her shop features beautiful stained glass which she and her husband make on site, jewelry from around the world, greeting cards, and other distinctive gift items.

This is just a sampling of a few shops on the South Shore that make shopping a refreshing experience. Please support our community and shop locally!
